KUGB Black & Brown Belt Course & Grading, Manchester - Club Report

Saturday 28 May 2016

The Shotokan Karate Academy were very proud to host one of the KUGB's free Black & Brown Belt Courses at Trinity Sports Centre.  The course saw a large number of KUGB karate-ka from across the country travel to Manchester to train under the expert instruction of Sensei Andy Sherry 9th Dan and Sensei Frank Brennan 8th Dan.

Its been a while since one of these KUGB courses had been held in Manchester and we are hoping that we are able to host more in the future.

Almost 30 of the club's black and brown belt members trained on a lovely sunny Sunday in Manchester, with participants taking the opportunity to relax in the sunshine between training sessions and the grading.

For those taking 1st Dan and 2nd Dan gradings in the afternoon, the multi-gym provided a great venue and there was a fantastic atmosphere throughout.

We were particularly proud to see some new home-grown black belts:

Lucy Regan, Lottie Lindsley, John McGough, Marc Fuzellier, Luca Harford, Eva Barta, Yasar Ahmad and Awais Ahmad.

A huge well done to you all - all the hard work has paid off!  But, the REAL hard work starts now!

A special mention also to Lottie Lindsley and Marc Fuzellier - they were both invited to Senior Kumite Squad training following the grading!
